How to Enable Email and MS Teams Notifications from Poly Lens | Setting up Notification Center

Hello, everyone! Last weekend I was reading posts on Reddit, and I found out one guy asking for offline and software update available notifications for Poly Systems, so I decided to write a blog post about it.

Poly Lens Notifications
Before getting into Poly Lens Cloud, let me talk about Notification Center. It allows admins and device managers to enable notifications for events such as new software, devices offline, and licenses expiring. The Team and/or recipients will be receiving events that have occurred, device name, IP Address, serial number, and much more. As far as I know, there are several benefits for getting Poly+, but I'm focusing on Lens notifications at this moment, so yes, Poly+ is required.

Now, that you know what notifications are sent from Lens, you may ask "What is the frequency?", so it depends on the notifications. Please carefully read the following information:

How it Works? What is the frequency?

  • License Expiring: Poly Lens will be checking for licenses expiring at the frequency you set, and will send a notice 30 days before the expiration.
    • Daily
    • Weekly
  • Software Update Available: Lens will be checking for updates at the frequency that is set and will send a notification if a new software is available. This is perfect for IT team because they can test new software before releasing it to all users.
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Immediately
  • Devices Offline: As you might expect, Lens will check for devices offline at the frequency that is set. In addition, there are frequency times which mean Lens will send a notification when a device is offline for X consecutive minutes, where X equals minutes.
    • Daily
    • Weekly
    • Frequency times
      • 12 hours
      • 6 hours
      • 4 hours
      • 2 hours
      • 1 hour
      • 30 minutes
      • 15 minutes

First, turn on enable notifications option, and check out Notification Types, you can read "How it works? What is the frequency?" section, if you need. After setting frequencies, enter the email addresses to deliver notifications from Lens to them.  For instance, I've already entered my email in order to receive notifications.

You may need to select and add Incoming Webhook, and after that, click on Configure button. If you ask me... I added it before writing this blog post, so I only need to click Configure.
